Over the past few years, Romulus Construction have undertaken the refurbishment and expansion of 20 Fulham Broadway, to provide new office space and retail options in Fulham town centre.
Steer played a crucial role in supporting the project by delivering a comprehensive suite of transport documents.
Originally granted consent in 2015, the development continued to receive Steer's assistance in navigating conditions and incorporating non-material amendments to the initial scheme.
How we helped
To bolster the project's commercial appeal, we recently aided in a planning application for an operational parking space within the development.
Despite the local planning authority initially rejecting the application due to concerns about highway safety and efficient parking space operation, we successfully appealed to the planning inspector. Through meticulous written representations, effective rebuttals, and the support of an independent safety audit, tracking analyses, and a parking management plan, we demonstrated to the planning inspector that the local authority's apprehensions were unfounded. The Inspector's decision, issued in early November 2023, upheld the appeal, and Steer is currently facilitating the discharge of conditions to implement the proposed operational parking space.
Successes and outcomes
The successful appeal to the planning inspector not only overcame initial refusals but also validated Steer's expertise in addressing complex transportation and planning challenges.
This victory underscores our commitment to achieving favourable outcomes for clients, ensuring the realisation of the proposed operational parking space.
The project exemplifies our capability in navigating regulatory hurdles and optimising transport solutions to enhance the overall success of Romulus Construction's Fulham Broadway development.
